Support for Parents and Carers

Growing up today can bring many different pressures, and for some young people this can lead to difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, eating difficulties or feeling overwhelmed. As a parent, it can be painful and confusing to see your child struggling, and knowing how best to help can sometimes feel impossible.

Alongside my work as a counsellor supporting young people with anxiety, I am also a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents. I also understand personally the challenges of supporting loved ones through periods of anxiety and emotional distress.

I aim to support parents in feeling more informed, confident and empowered, helping you understand your child’s experiences and recognise the positive steps they can take towards feeling more like themselves again.

“Sara worked with our teenage daughter helping her through an extremely challenging time whilst she was awaiting an autism diagnosis and struggling to cope with school.

Sara was immensely supportive, establishing a calm atmosphere of trust and respect. Our daughter was able to open up and understand herself with Sara's gentle help. She went from dreading counselling to actively looking forward to going. As a parent we felt supported too, Sara is very responsive and always worked in the best interest of our daughter. We are so grateful for all her help.”

An Interactive Online Course with optional live support

Course Overview

This course is in the form of 8 video recorded teachings which vary in length but are around 30 minutes each. Additional time will be needed to complete the exercises which are part of each taught session.  These exercises are not assessed but form an important part of the learning process.  Access to these videos will be through a link emailed to clients who purchase the course and the content can be done at a time to suit you.  I also guarantee access to the content for a minimum of 12 months so you can return to it time and time again to remind yourself

of the different approaches you can take.

You can also add on a one-to-one session with me where you can ask about the skills and techniques the course teaches in the context of your own family, personalising what you learn and how you can use the new knowledge.

“From the beginning Sara was so understanding and welcoming and adapted to what I needed right away. It was the highlight of my week to go and see her knowing how much she was going to help me.

She helped my confidence, created coping methods to calm me down and helped me find ways to stop or charge the things that weren’t making me feel great.

Thank you so much for changing my life in a positive way.”
